We all have heard about the great mythological series “MAHABHARAT” . It was a great war between truth and injustice . The character that we all should look up at is “ARJUN” , who was one of the pandavas and was born to Kunti and Pandu.

Among the warriors in Mahabharat , Arjun was the greatest of all for his sincerity and skills in archery . He was known for pursuing his goals with single mindedness , complete concentration with speed and accuracy.

Here are some stories that will give us major life lessons :

  • A teacher can teach you , but its on your part to learn and excel — Arjun was student of Dronacharya , whenever his teacher taught something he made sure that he didn’t miss a single thing . He was ready to learn anything and everything , and he put so much of his time and effort into learning. Once Arjun’s brother Bheem was eating rice pudding in dark , he was astonished to see him brother eating in dark . He asked his brother how he was able to do that , he replied that it was matter of practice . Arjun kept practising to aim in dark and after trying hard he was successful in hitting the aim.
  • Seek knowledge from the knowledgeable— At a point when war was about to begin , Arjun was shattered and was reluctant to fight against his cousins and gurus . But Krishna came in and made him understand the importance of the war . He never hesitated to ask for Krishna’s advice .He kept all his emotions aside and did what is his duty .
  • Short term goals are equally important as long term goals — Arjun was in the swayamvar of Draupadi . There was a challenge he had to face before being able to marry Draupadi . The challenge was to pierce the eye of a moving fish while looking at its reflection . So , for Arjun , Draupadi was his long term goal and piercing the eye of fish was short term goal . It was necessary for him to pierce the eye of fish before marrying Draupadi . So , its a need to achieve our short term goals with the equal focus otherwise you can’t achieve your long term goal .
  • Wait for the right moment and seizing the opportunity — While the war was on , he was waiting for opportunities when he can kill powerful warriors like Bheesm and Karna .It is important to prepare for the right moment and grab the opportunity . If he would have not killed them in the right time then he would have faced defeat .
